Mom’s MasigLakas BLT

Ingredients

4 slices Gardenia Classic White Bread
2 pcs Bacon
4 pcs Lettuce, leaves
2 pcs Tomato
2 pcs Egg
1 tbsp Mayonnaise
2 tbsp Salt
1/2 tsp Pepper

Procedure

  1. Wash and dry all produce, set aside.
  2. Cut a medium sized hole on 2 slices of Gardenia Classic White Bread
  3. Brush a thin layer of mayonnaise on both sides of the slices, set aside.
  4. Tear lettuce leaves in half to fit on the sandwich better. Set aside.
  5. Slice tomatoes into 1/4″ thick slices, set aside.
  6. In a cold pan, place strips of bacon then turn on a medium low heat.
  7. Let the bacon fat render and continue to cook until the bacon is crispy, set aside.
  8. Drain the rendered fat and set aside. Wipe the pan down before a little fat back in the pan.
  9. Heat the pan to medium-low heat, place the cut-out bread on the pan.
  10. Crack an egg into the middle of the bread into the hole.
  11. Cook for a few minutes on until the egg is half cooked (seeing that the whites are cooking but not the yolk)
  12. Flip the slice of bread over to cook the other side of the egg.
  13. Take the toast out of the pan to cool for a bit.
  14. Starting with a bottom slice of bread, then add lettuce, bacon, and tomato.
  15. Season the tomato with salt and pepper, then add a drizzle of mayonnaise.
  16. Top with the toasted slice of bread.
    Optional: Garnish with any chopped up herbs / leaves to give color
