Embracing communities beyond bread ❤️

Gardenia Philippines recently donated 75 school chairs made from 100% recycled plastics to Mapili Elementary School in San Enrique, Iloilo.

This marks the seventh batch of school chair donation made possible by the bayanihan effort arising from Gardenia’s plastic collection drive in different barangays and campuses. Through this program, single-use plastics are converted into sturdy school chairs and then donated to schools in need.

With the new chairs, Mapili Elementary School is now better equipped to provide a more comfortable learning environment for its students, especially after Typhoon Tino severely affected their barangay and brought immense damage in the area last November 2025.

Aside from the chair turnover, the students and teachers also received fresh Gardenia breads, and participated in an informative lecture on the 7Rs of sustainability. Gardenia’s mascot, Gardee, also made a special appearance and brought smiles to the students.

Through Gardenia’s #GoingGreen efforts, we remain committed to building a more sustainable future while enriching lives and embracing communities beyond baking to create a lasting, positive impact on our future generations.
