Gardenia Fried Ice Cream

A warm dessert. A Scoop of ice cream wrapped with Gardenia Black Forest loaf, coated with tempura batter and quickly deep fried, creating a warm, crispy shell around the ice cold ice cream.

Ingredients

1 400g Gardenia Amazing Black Forest Loaf
1 pint Vanilla ice cream

For Tempura Batter:
1 Cup Cake Flour
1 Cold Water
1 Pc. Egg

Cooking oil for frying

Procedure

1.) Cover your plate/ chopping board with cling wrap.
2.) Put 1 slice of Gardenia Black forest loaf on top of the plastic wrap and flatten it using a rolling pin.
3.) Put 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream on the middle of the flattened bread .
4.) Wrap the ice cream with the flatten bread and seal it using the plastic wrap.
5.) Do the same procedure with the remaining breads.
6.) Place inside the freezer for 2-3 hours or overnight for best results.
To prepare the tempura batter:
1.) In a bowl, whisk together the egg and cold water. Add the cake flour a mix. Do not over mix the batter.
To Fry:
1.) Preheat your oil to 350 deg F (180 deg C)
2.) Get the ice cream bread from the freezer and remove the plastic wrap.
3.) Dip it in the tempura batter and shake off the excess.
4.) Deep fry it quickly to prevent the ice cream from melting. Drain the excess oil.
5.) Serve and enjoy!
